Dimitris Manoukas interviewed on the ‘Coworking Values Podcast’

Dimitris Manoukas, member of the REMAKING project at Politecnico di Milano, was recently interviewed on the Coworking Values Podcast, hosted by Bernie J. Mitchell from the European Coworking Assembly.

In the episode, titled ‘Why Coworking Spaces Are the Antidote to Brain Drain’ Manoukas discussed how coworking spaces can serve as an antidote to brain drain in Europe’s peripheral and rural regions. Drawing on his research and fieldwork across Greece and Europe, he explored how collaborative spaces go far beyond providing desks and Wi-Fi — functioning instead as vital civic infrastructure that anchors young people, fosters local networks, and enables communities to thrive without relocating to major cities or abroad.

Manoukas also discussed how traditional institutions are adapting: “Many old institutions, like community centres, adopt coworking practices and rebrand themselves as hubs.”
