On 26 October 2026, the Horizon Europe REMAKING project held a Policy Workshop in Bologna, Italy, entitled “Hybrid Work: People, Businesses and Territories – Data and Evidence, Practices and Policies.” Co-organised by the University of Bologna and Regione Emilia-Romagna, the event brought together researchers, institutional representatives and local stakeholders to discuss the impacts of remote and hybrid working on organisations, workers and territories.

The workshop opened with contributions from Stefania Sparaco and Marco R. Di Tommaso, followed by a presentation of Regione Emilia-Romagna’s experience with hybrid working by Stefania Sparaco and Enrica Guariniello.

Patrizia Leone, Elena Sofia Palmieri and Marco R. Di Tommaso presented the main findings of the REMAKING project, focusing on survey results and qualitative evidence from the Bologna case study.

The event also included exchanges with local stakeholders and thematic group discussions addressing hybrid work organisation, workers’ rights and well-being, gender equality, mobility and territorial development.

The workshop provided an opportunity to share experiences, identify good practices and discuss policy recommendations, contributing to REMAKING’s efforts to translate research findings into practical policy actions.
